With a background in the hospitality sector going back over three decades our customers can now experience our customer focused cuisine and service both on location with TV & Movie Productions or at our Secret Garden Coffee Shop in Ballymena’s ECOS Hub & Conference Centre.

Big Occasions is a family run business and an emphasis is placed on attention to detail and ever changing customer needs and tastes, reflected in continuous menu evolution and staff development.

Our team of dedicated chefs, based both at our Production Kitchen and at our various sites, places an emphasis on freshly prepared, local produce. We are also fortunate to have a team of catering professionals and support staff who strive to ensure customer satisfaction.

Key Team Members:

  • Chad Falls – Director
    Chad returned to Belfast from London in 2001 where he had trained as a chef and gained the benefit of experience in the Michelin Star Orrery Restaurant, Marleybone.  Upon his return Chad headed operations at family owned bars and restaurants as well as daily involvement in the catering franchises at Belfast Castle, Malone House and Belfast City Hall. For the past 15 years Chad has concentrated on the development of the location catering side of operations.

  • Marie-Louise Falls – Director
    Marie-Louise currently heads the team at The Secret Garden Cafe and Conference Facility at Ballymena’s ECOS Hub.  Having immersed herself in the family business over the past 30 years her attention to detail and focus on customer satisfaction has ensured continued success at prestigious locations such as Belfast Castle, Malone House, Belfast City Hall and Antrim Castle Gardens.

  • Camilla Falls – Director of Finance & HR
    Camilla’s background in Londons’ financial markets ensure the highest levels of professionalism in dealing with both the financial aspects of the business and day to day contact with customers and suppliers.  Camilla also heads the growing HR department.

  • John Lyttle – Executive Head Chef
    John has been involved with the family business for over 20 years and is based primarily in our Production Kitchen where he ensures the use of the freshest, quality ingredients from local suppliers. John is responsible for the continued high quality consistency of our produce and together with Chad monitors customer satisfaction and continually develops menus to reflect changing demands.

  • Rafal Cherezniak – General Manager
    When not heading our Front of House teams on location catering contracts Rafal can be found at The Secret Garden Cafe where he ensures the highest levels of service for both visitors and conference attendees.  Rafal has been with us for over 15 years and thrives on the demands of the day to day management of staff and the meeting of customer expectations.
